Bachelor of Natural Science

Bachelor of Natural Science

Our world is changing at a rapid pace: a bigger population, migration, technology advancements and environmental degradation are all placing pressure on our natural resources. A UWS degree in Natural Sciences produces graduates who'll be able to deal with these pressures and will contribute to our ability to shape sustainable futures.

The Bachelor of Natural Sciences specialties are nested in a strong environmental framework of learning, enabling the graduates to be equipped to deal with challenges in a changing world. For more information on the specialties, please refer to the course listings on the left menu.

The Bachelor of Natural Science course is very flexible. Students can choose from several programs with an option to change or move into a key program offered in the Bachelor Science (check campus availability). It also allows students to include another major or sub-major from different areas of science or other disciplines. These include the arts, business, humanities, and social sciences (though this may require cross-campus study and is subject to timetabling availability).

A Career in Natural Science

As a graduate of the UWS Natural Science program, you'll have access to numerous career opportunities within fields such as:

  • secondary school science*
  • applied natural science disciplines
  • environmental and rural sustainability
  • research (further postgraduate study required)
*Career in teaching and education: Completion of B Natural Science may satisfy the entry requirements to a Master of Teaching (secondary)
