Social Sciences
It's all about courses...
The School of Social Sciences believe that studying social life, community and organisations can 'make a difference' in the world.
Their staff are actively involved in studying topics in the applied social sciences - ageing, use of alcohol and other drugs, empowerment in the workplace, personality, therapies and equity and access, tourism management and urban management, among others.
It's about our students...
There is a strong emphasis on students moving beyond the University and working on projects with people in the community and workplace.
Among the programs offered, there are courses accredited by the:
- Australian Association of Social Workers
- Australian Institute of Welfare and Community Workers
- Australian National Art Therapy Association.
A number of courses have been developed in conjunction with professional associations and students graduate eligible for employment and/or professional memberships:
The courses listed on this page (see table) are coursework programs. Coursework programs often combine set subjects, electives, and independent study. If you are interested in a research based postgraduate degree please click here.
